This Saturday is St. Patrick’s Day!!
For me, it’s a big deal, I’m Irish. I’m not a drinker but I’m pretty proud of my heritage.
Potatoes, whiskey, green shakes and beer…good times.
So you know, I’ll be getting down to this song:
Here’s one my grandfather used to say:
Here’s to you, as good as you are.
Here’s to me as bad as I am.
As good as you are and as bad as I am,
I’m as good as you are, as bad as I am.
He was always one for tricky riddles and charming sayings, rest his soul 🙂
The next few days might be posts of love and longing for my Irish grandparents, my favourite people in the world.
Here’s one for the road: “It’s not that the Irish are cynical. It’s rather that they have a wonderful lack of respect for everything and everybody.”
Cheers…monkiss
