About A Monkiss

There’s a reason you can learn from everything: you have basic wisdom, basic intelligence, and basic goodness.  -Pema Chodron

Monkiss is a variation on my nickname.

Me in 3 quotes:

“There was a time when I liked a good riot. Put on some heavy old street clothes that could stand a bit of sidewalk-scraping, infect myself with something good and contagious, then go out and stamp on some cops. It was great, being nine years old.”- Spider Jerusalem, Transmetropolitan

“We have to continue to learn. We have to be open. And we have to be ready to release our knowledge in order to come to a higher understanding of reality.” –Thich Nhat Hanh

“I am a writer who happens to love women. I am not a lesbian who happens to write.”
Jeanette Winterson

  1. Hi Ciaran!
Love your blog – the honesty and humour just shine through. Makes for great reading. I don’t know if I will ever be able to get a tattoo – although I am a great appreciator of them. Not that I’m scared of pain or permanence (LOL re buddhism…) – more that I don’t think I’d ever be able to decide on an image. 😀
    Blessings to you
    xx

    • Blessings in return 🙂

And thank you for your kind, kind words, they do mean very much to me.

I immensely enjoyed your posts too! The mental images your posts conjure are delightful. I wanna see that carpet python!

      xx

  2. “Without diversity in life, what is there to marvel at?” I’m loving that phrase. I just wanted to check out your about page just as I’ve just read your comment on mine. I love your blog and I hope you stay around!
